8 members of a family two children
killed during December 9-10, 2007 in and around Musa Qala, Helmand Province. At least 12-20 civilians were killed by US/NATO occupation forces in their aerial and artillery bombardments as they sought to retake and occupy Musa Qala. A resident, Mohammad Nasir told the AFP by telephone that 12 had perished in air strikes, including a family of eight, 2 children and 2 women. Some civilians perished in fighting in Landy Nawa near Musa Qala. A resident of the area, Matiullah, said “we heard that there are a lot of civilian casualties but we don’t know the exact numbers.” The Taliban reported that air strikes had demolished two homes in Musa Qala, killing 20 civilians.
