in the village of Banga Shir, Khogiani district of Nangarhar Province. According to Noor Rahman of Reuters and the Agence France Presse, U.S. occupation and Afghan forces raided a compound in Banga Shir village in a mountainous area, sparking a firefight. According to residents and witnesses, the pre-dawn raid killed and injured civilians and four residents were abducted to a fate unknown. As usual, the U.S. military reported no civilian casualties and that six Taliban were killed, hoping that the isolation of the region would prevent any independent, truthful reporting.
