in a village in the Pech Valley,
Kunar Province. NATO occupation forces
test-fired a mortar round which hit a home. The police chief of Kunar Province,
Adbuljalai Jalal, reported that 3 children were killed and two others were
wounded. NATO propaganda spokesman in Kandahar, Luke Knittig,
said that one mortar round fell short of the target “for technical reasons” and
hit a home. He added, “We extend our sympathies and we are taking every effort
to ensure children involved get the best care.”
