on Thursday, July 24, 2008

in the Pashtun town of Ajristan in the district of the same name of Ghazni Province. On Monday, the Taliban had stormed Ajristan, capturing it. The district governor, Rad Mohammad Waziri fled. Two days later, NATO occupation forces led a force to recapture the district. Close air support strikes were called-in and Rad Mohammad told the AFP that besides some 15 “Taliban” being killed, two civilians had perished in the bombing. As usual, the Taliban simply withdrew when faced with superior fire-power.
