around the town of Dishu (Deshu) located on the Helmand River in the south of Helmand Province. Dishu has been the site of numerous insurgent attacks during the past year. A spokesman for the provincial governor conceded that aircraft had bombed in the Dishu district on Thursday, inflicting an unknown number of casualties. A resident of Dishu, Faisal Mohammad, said 14 civilians had been killed and 2 wounded in the bombing, according to a report filed by Kandahar-based Reuters correspondent, Mirwais Afghan (of course not by the Associated Press).
