 Durham House of Pets was founded in May 1987 in Durham, NH. Originally it was known as The Durham Pet House and was a simple business run
out of our founder, Martha Winfrey’s, living room. Durham House of Pets underwent big changes in 1996 when business grew too big for Ms. Winfrey’s living room.
She moved the business to its current location in downtown Durham. As the company grew so did its reputation for high quality pet supplies, so in the same year
the business expanded it also changed its name. Ms. Winfrey said that Durham House of Pets gave the small town pet shop “a big city appeal”. Durham House
of Pets has a variety of products for dogs, cats, fish and many others. More and more people choose Durham House of Pets because all the products are reasonably
priced and they know they will be helping their community. DHP has pledged a portion of every sale to go back into the community shelters and pounds. DHP is located
