History
Pine Valley Inc. was founded in 1932 by Dwayne James, who lived in West Valley, West Virginia.
He was a father of two children and husband of Emily James.
Early in the companies' years, Mr. James hand-made wooden tables and rocking chairs.
Most of the wood he used was pine.
The local people would purchase his man-made furniture and that's where it all began.
More and more workers helped Dwayne create the furniture, so the production began to rise quickly.
The company was given its name from Dwayne's son, Chris, who thought "Pine" worked because it was the most common wood used and "Valley" because they lived in West Valley, West Virginia.
The company continued to grow into becoming a popular nation-wide furniture company.
Today, it is one of the most popular furniture companies in the country.
