WaLLY tHe GrEEn MoNsTeRWally the Green Monster is the official Red Sox Mascot. Wally lives in Fenway Park and attends EVERY game and was named after Fenway's 37 ft wall in left field that displays scores, stats, ads, and the AL standings.. Wally's such is so committed to Red Sox Nation that he even has his own jersey and number! #97. He vacations every March in Fort Myers, FL and travels with the team. He also attends fan events such as birthday parties, charity functions, and parades.
Wally was a very shy monster and lived privately in the wall in left field. After living in secret for 50 years, Wally came out of the scoreboard and has become a HUGE part of Red Sox Nation ever since. Wally now interacts with fans and helps them root for the Sox during every game.
There has been some rivalry between Tampa Bay's Raymond and our Wally, but it did not start because of our Wally but because of Raymond's foolish attacks and pranks. Some of his attacks include running Wally over with a four-wheeler and hanging over 40 mini Ray dolls in the visiting broadcasters' booth. This ongoing rivalry has really gotten Boston not to like Raymond due to his actions done out of jelousy towards Wally.
