Our History

Donald Dublin founded Durham House of Pets in 1985. Originally, Dublin built his store around two name brands of the decade; Iams and Eukanuba. Both brands were known country wide for their exceptional quality of pet foods. However, Proctor and Gamble bought both of them and the nutritional quality was lost when the formulas began to change. From there, Dublin began supporting smaller, independently owned pet food companies. He realized that the quality coming out of these family run companies was unsurpassed by any corporate company. He took pride in reading ingredient panels and educating the consumers on how to do that same. He stressed the importance of feeding a nutritionally balanced diet.

Why Are We Different?

Dublin holds demo days on the first of each month. He invites all manufacturing representatives of the pet foods he sells and has them pass out samples and brochures to educate consumers on their nutritionally balanced diets.  All of his employees participate in manufacturing representatives training sessions every six months from each brand to keep up to date on an formula changes and additions in the company. His experience in the pet food industry is unsurpassed by any other in NH, being a manufacturing representative himself for three separate holistic pet food companies. All of his staff is fully educated in nutrition and willing to help consumers find the perfect pet food for their pets unique needs.
