Sprinkles was founded in 1999 by Joan Glennon. Joan started the company out of her home in Quincy Massachusetts by taking small orders from friends and family. Joan had always enjoyed baking and decorating cupcakes. As Sprinkles cupcakes became more popular, the company began to expand. In 2003 Joan relocated the company to its current location in Boston, however the recipes she uses have remained the same. The company has continued to grow and is popularly used for events such as weddings, birthdays, and functions.
