Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and one of the prettiest and most historical cities I have ever been to. The city attracts one million overseas visitors per year, making it the second most visited tourist destination in the United Kingdom, after London. It has also been voted most desirable city to live in the United Kingdom.

It offers thousands of museums and tours, along with plenty of shopping, mostly along the royal mile, Edinburgh’s busiest section of streets. There are plenty of affordable hotels, and transportation is relatively easy, weather you rent a car through “Zip Cars,” a swift yet efficient company that will rent you a car for a specific amount of time, the affordable Edinburgh bus company, the city’s main source of public transportation, or a European taxi which can be found allover the city, at any time of day.

But be forewarned, Edinburgh gets very cold in the winter, so its best to avoid traveling there during winter months, AND BRING A RAIN COAT, it rains almost every day there, but usually not for more than a few minuets, and a little rain never hurt anybody! And if you do get caught in the rain, take the time to eat in a quaint European pub, which can be found on most streets disbursed throughout the city.
