Cannoli's by Dottie was opened on Newbury Street in 1975 and has business has been booming ever since. The company was founded by Dorothy "Dottie" Hydorn and her husband Vern. Dorothy's mother was from Italy and she made homemade cannoli's for every occasion. Everyone loved the cannoli's, so Dottie learned the recipe and took over the role as the best cannoli chef that her family and friends knew. With much persuasion, Dottie opened up a cannoli bakery. From day one business was great. The shop started with just plain cannoli's. After a few years, it grew to having different varieties of fillings and shells. Dottie has since retired and her granddaughter Lindsay has taken over the shop. She is hoping to expand in new locations.
