"American Journal of Nursing" is published by the American Nursing Association.
Even though it does not focus on critica-care issues, it is a magazine for all nurses and has interesting
articles regarding the nursing profession and issues that affect all nurses. |
 |
"Nursing Made Incredibly Easy" is exactly what it states, it takes difficult
nursing concepts/pathophysiologies and puts them in plain language that everyone can understand. It is an
excellent magazine for nurses starting out in crtitical-care as well as seasoned nurses. |
|
"RN" is another easy to read magazine. It contains many good articles, many of which is related to critical care.
An added bonus is that Laura Gasparis (a well-known and outspoken critical-care nurse) writes an article each month, this alone makes the magazine a must have. |

"The Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice" is well organized, easy to read format. Every nurse needs a good med/surg nursing book and I recommend this one.
(Many hospitals use this manual to guide their nursing policy and procedure.) |
 |
"Clinical Nursing Skills - Basic to Advanced" is a good clinical practice book to have. It is well-organized, good graphics, provides step-by-step with rationales. |
 |
Every nurse should have a good lab book. Over the years, I have found "Mosby's Diagnostic and Laboratory Test Reference" to fit my needs. |
