This is an image of a scene from Jane Austen's novel "Sense and
Sensibility," a personal favorite of mine, published in 1811.
This image shows a family traveling and simultaneously mourning the death of someone close in William Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying," published in 1930.
Pictured to the left is famous writer and one-time slave, Olaudah Equiano.
His narrative is my favorite of the slave narrative genre.
To the right are characters from a tragic play called "Endgame" by Samuel Beckett, a popular existentialist writer of his time.
Shakespeare is a playwright that most everyone is familiar with because
his work is timeless. Two of my favorite Shakespeare plays are Antony and
Cleopatra (pictured left) and Henry V (pictured right).
