Theme
I've decided to make my project a page about myself. I am probably not going to do a complete history of my life, I'd do a more recent history of
my life. In fact, I'd probably concentrate more on my high school years. I'd talk about each sport I did and my accomplishments in them. I'd obviously
have a section about my family, a section about my friends, and maybe a part about my future goals.
This should be a fun project for my to use to reflect on everything. I just have to be careful not to make it too boring for everyone else.
Therefore, I would probably have to include a lot of pictures. I know that when I look at a website it makes it easier to read through and
understand if I visually have something to look at.
Goals
- Objective
- The point of this project is obviously to complete it for course
completion. However, hopefully the project will allow some people who are
interested to learn more about me. I think my life has been interesting.
- Audience
- The only audience I intend to have for this page is anyone who is
involved in this CS403 course. I don't plan on advertising this to anyone
at all.
- Timeframe
- I don't plan on making this span my entire life because that might
get rather boring. I plan to concentrate on my life through high school
and up until now. So it might date from September 2004 - present.
- Length
- I'm going to try and do a thorough job of explaining everything I
want to explain with minimal text. I want to minimize the length of my
pages so that people aren't scrolling forever.
- Research Required
- There shouldn't be any research required because I know my life
better than anyone else.
- Maintenance
- Once the page is done, it's done. I'm not going to be using this for
anything else in the future. Also, because the concentration is from high
school until right now, it won't need to be updated.
- Money
- I don't plan on making or using any money for this project.
- Graphics
- I would like to include as many graphics as possible, without
overwhelming the page with them. I don't want there to be pages and pages
of text because that can be rather boring.
- Writing Quality
- I will have small paragraphs that don't span the whole page width(I
think you said we're learning that) so that the information I have will be
easier to read. I will try to stay away from big, long paragraphs too.
Navigational Scheme
I will be using a hierarchical navigational scheme. This will allow for
the easiest navigation seeing I'm going to be having links to different
pages. I would assign names, which I haven't decided upon, to each link.
The links would probably be on the sidebar to make navigation easy. I
would have a header and footer that were consistent throughout the whole
project to let the reader know they are still in the same area. To
organize all the information I would probably use a combination of different
"hatracks." I would probably use the combination of time and
category. The project isn't solely a timeline of my life, it will include
links to pages about my friends and family as well. They aren't as easy to
add into a timeline of my life because they've just been there all along.
