The Bruins have been sputtering a little bit over the past few weeks. They came out of the gate hot but have slowed down a little bit since. This is expected in the NHL especially with the amount of injuries with the game being so fast and physical. The B's are still looking fine record wise despite extremely high expectations. The B's have 33 points which puts them 7th in the league and 5th in the conference. The Eastern Conference looks as deep as ever this year, with a couple of especially potent teams in the Western Conference.
Despite a little bit of sputtering offensively, the duo of Tuuka Rask and Tim Thomas still seems to be the best in the league. Thomas leads the league in save percentage, goals against average, and shutouts. Strong goaltending is a huge help when teams like the Bruins struggle a little bit to put the puck in the net. The Bruins are very talented, and will probably have go on a streak of 6 or 7 wins in a couple weeks. But they will then slow down again, they are a pretty inconsistent team. But, as long as we can get a high enough seed in the playoffs to get some home ice, we could make another run at the cup. We've blown it the last two years, but hopefully we've learned our lesson.
