The stadium is located in Camp Nou, Barcelona. Barcelona is the latest
winner of the UEFA Champions League when they defeated the reigning
champions, Manchester United, 2-0.
Euopean soccer is set up much differently than the major sports in the United States and has a much higher skill set than that of Major League Soccer which is based here in the United States. Barcelona plays in the Spanish Primera League but they also play teams based out of England, Italy, and other European countries and in the end there is a major tournamnet called the European Cup.
Being the second most popular team in Spain with 25 percent of spain being a supporter Barcelona they have a lot of pressure on them to recieve good results and that they have done by winning the most overall trophies out of any Spanish based team. The only team that has more fan support than Barcelona is Real Madrid which is thought to have around 32 percent of the populations support. With these teams both boosting strong teams and large fan support they have become fierce rivals. However Barcelona also has a local rival called Espanyol because Espanyol has many Spanish and home grown players unlike Barcelona who are a multinational jugarnot with superstars coming from all over the world from brazil to Japan.
