Tim Armstrong, my favourite musician, has obviously played in
some of my favourite bands. I admire him as a musician, as a person, and
above all as a writer. Lyrics are my favourite part of any song (granted
they are good lyrics) and his always seem to work for me. He's just
amazing all around, end of story.
Leon Golub
Leon Golub is known as an Existentialist/Activist Painter. He's
only recently made it to this list since I began writing a paper
about him. Leon gets a lot of his opinion out on the canvas and is
known to portray some of life's worse characteristics.
Salvador Dali
Salvador Dali is another painter I would love to meet. His work
is some of the most unique and thought provoking, in both technique
and inspiration, that I have come across...I would love to know what
goes on in his mind.
James Dean
Jimmy is by far one of my favourite actors (just ask my
roommate). Most people my age know him as that guy on tshirts or from
'Rebel Without A Cause'...as an individual he was intricate but yet simple
in his portrayal of his own self. I feel many of the characters Jimmy
played were very influencial on teenagers and young people of every
generation.
Bono
How could anyone not want to meet Bono? I grew up on U2 because
my mother is obsessed and I have grown to love all of their music.
Bono, himself, is an amazing individual. He has accomplished so much
in a short time span and I am in awe of him, although he'd probably
tell me not to be.
George Washington
I think a guy who really didn't think he wanted to be President
would be an interesting person to have a conversation with. Plus,
it'd be interesting to hear his take on things today.
Vladimir Putin
If you don't know, Putin is the former Russian President and is
the current Prime Minister of Russia as well as chairman of United
Russia and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union of
Russia and Belarus.
Algernon Charles Swinburne
For most people who don't know, Swinburne was an English poet. His
work was very controversial for his time.
Paul Scholes
Paul Scholes is currently a midfielder for Manchester United
Football Club in the English Premier League (he has also played for
the English national team). It's always a good day watching Scholes play
and is known as a quiet, humble individual who dislikes media attention. I
don't blame him.
King George the Third
King George the Third was King of Great Britain and King of Ireland
from 25 October 1760 until the union of these two countries on 1 January
1801, after which he was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Ireland until his death. HOWEVER, I want to meet him because who wouldn't
enjoy a cup of tea with insane royalty?
I am still without license or permit. I never needed one living in the
city and rarely do I ever come across situation on campus where I wish I
had one.
I love old-fashioned snail mail.
When the weather is nice, you can find me laying in the "New Quad" or
on T-Hall lawn. It's proven fact.
People who can play instruments make me envious. I started to try and
teach myself guitar but with everything else going on, I don't have the
patience to do it myself. Any willing teachers out there to give lessons?
I have traveled to five countries in the past 5 years: Italy, Ireland,
Wales, England, and Spain.
If you haven't noticed already...I spell things with "U"s and "RE"s
(colour, favourite, centre, theatre, etc)
I never use umbrellas.
I decided on coming to the University of New Hampshire before I even
saw the campus. On admitted day, I took my tour and wrote a five-hundred
dollar check to pay my enrollment/housing fee.
Next year I'm hoping to be an RA in an all freshman dorm. If I'm
lucky I'll get to be right here in Alexander once again. I'm somewhat
intimidated by the tall halls but am not opposed to working in any dorm on
campus.
My hair has been ten different colours between age 12 and age 18.
On warm days when I'm home, you can find me at the Boston Common
feeding peanuts to the squirrels. If you don't like rodents I don't
suggest you do this. They do sit on your lap and eat from your hands. I
love it.
I'm always the person behind the camera and have been for
years...sometimes I wish someone else would pick up the responsibility
I grew up on hockey and spent many seasons at the Parazzo Rink in East
Boston. My uncle, who is ten years older than me, used to play (since
before I was born) and I went to everyone of his games up until he
graduated. Then, I started going to all my school's games. Now I'm at UNH
and we know how that goes.
I tend to get carried away with these Random Things lists.
One wish of mine is to be (as close as possible to) fluent in four
languages by the time I
graduate
