History

    Durham House of Pets first opened its doors on July 4, 1991. It was founded by owner Kassia Russell, an avid animal lover who holds a degree in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire, with the goal of enhancing the pet industry by providing superior products to pets and their owners. DHP did not always offer all that they do today, as the store originally started out as a shop selling feed for only dogs and cats. Over time, as the demand for pet supplies increased however, DHP began carrying a variety of other products to go along with the pet food they were already selling. Owners appreciated the quality of the products and the friendliness of the staff and so began shopping here on a regular basis. As the shop increased in popularity, DHP decided it was time to expand throughout the East Coast so that more pet owners would be able to enjoy their products. Today, Durham House of Pets has twenty locations throughout New England, but is still committed to providing your pet with only the best. We hope you stop by soon. Thanks for visiting!
