Jumps
In cheerleading there are many types of jumps. One single jump can be turned more complex by adding other jumps into the sequence. Also tumbling could even be added to the end.
Most Common Jumps
- Tuck
- A jump with your legs tucked after swinging your arms.
- Toe Touch
- Your legs are opened in a stradle position, you push your legs up as far as they can go, and touch your toes.
- Hurdler
- A hurdler can go to either the right or the left. Which ever side it is, that leg gets extended while the other one is behind and bent.
- Pike
- With this jump your legs are straight in front of you locked, while the top half of your body is bent over your leg (kind of looks like a sandwich).
- Double Hook
- Your left leg is bent in front of you as if you were sitting Indian style, and the back one is bent behind.
