I do not feel these social networking sites should have any responsibility in these incidents. Social networking sites are set up to connect people with no intention of negative uses. So they cannot be responsible for any misuses.
I think that in this case the parents of the perpetrators are almost wholly responsible because they participated in the bullying. I think the parents of the victim hold some responsibility because they did not monitor their child’s Internet use.
If there were some kind of mandatory course that educated children about the dangers of the Internet there would be a significant decrease in these incidents.
