Muse

Muse is an English rock band which formed in 1994. They have a very eclectic sound, as they mix many different genres together. The band's musical style is that of alternative rock with elements of space rock and progressive rock. They also mix in elements of classical music as well as hard rock, electronica, and rock opera. They have mostly been an underground band, but with the release of their albumThe Resistance, they started to be more mainstream. The band has released six studio alblums since their inception in 1994, their latest one being The 2nd Law. Their major influences include artist Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Radiohead, and a few classical composers (such as Chopin).

This debut album was realeased on October 4th, 1999. The sound is upbeat and downbeat all at the same time. A wonderful synthesis of contradictory musical elements.
Origin of Symmetry
Released July 17th,2001. Features a wonderful remix of the classic jazz song Feeling Good.
Resistance
Released in 2009, this album combines heavy rock chords with synthesizers and strings. Some of the vocals are vaguely reminiscient of Queen.
