Mystic is located in New London county. New London county is home to many other towns near Mystic such as Groton, Stonnington, New London, and Ledyard. This part of Connecticut is very historical, and is home to many other intersting tourist sites. There are two casinoes in Ledyard; Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Groton, CT is known as the "Submarine capital of the world" and is home to a United States Navy base and submarine museum. New London Connecticut is right on the water and still contains the home of Eugene Oneill. Lastly, the town of Stonnington has many lighthouses.
