I am a first year oceanography graduate student at the University of New Hampshire working under the direction of Dr. Lippmann. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Geology with a concentration in coastal and marine geosciences at the University of Delaware. At Delaware, I completed an undergraduate senior thesis under Dr. Chris Sommerfield entitieled "Radionuclide Indicators of Seasonal Sediment Dynamics in the Delaware Estuary" where I used naturally occuring radionuclides that absorb to fine grain sediment to predict short termdeposition rates in the Delaware Estuary.
At the University of New Hampshire, I plan to work with Dr. Tom Lippmann to study coastal processes in order to better understand how our coast are evolving.
The below image is an example of a bathymetric map of an area in the Gulf of Mexico that was mapped using a multibeam echosounder. Similar maps will hopefully be obtained for coastal areas using the Coastal Bathymetry Survey System (CBASS) developed by Tomm Lippmann.
