I played the electric bass in my high school jazz band my sophomore year of high school. Jazz opened me up to a whole new world of music. It inspired me to learn the string bass.

The string bass can be played either acoustically or through an amp. I began playing it at the end of my sophomore year of high school and the following year I participated in the high school orchestra and jazz band. I also came in fourth place in the New Hampshire Jazz Allstate competition and got to play amongst some of the best high school musicians in New Hampshire.
