HistoryThe Durham House of Pets was founded in 1990 by Warren Buffet, one of the worlds most prestigious stock market investors. Mr. Buffet decide in the early 90's that he had made enough money to finally start living his dream of running his own pet store. Mr. Buffet has been a domestic animal enthusiast for as long as he can remember owning several different breeds of dogs cats, and birds. With his self taught extensive knowledge of domestic animals along with his ability to keep the company afloat with his own personal investments, Buffet was able turn his company into one of the leading pet stores in the nation by the end of the 90's. Ofcourse with Warren Buffet, being one of the best simply wasn't good enough. He wanted to be in the number one spot for companies in his sector and also wanted to turn his company into a fortune five hundred company. Because of these high asperations, Buffet knew he would have to make a drastic change, so he looked for a new CEO for the company. Warren found his new CEO at a benefit for Forbes richest people in the world, his new CEO would be rap moggle and CEO of Rockafella Records Jay Z aka Sean Carter. He was hired in 2001 and still remains the CEO of Durham House of Pets along with it retaining a spot year in and year out as a fortune five hundred company. |
Early Products and Growth The inventory of the Durham House of Pets when it first started doesn't nearly resemble that of the present inventory. In the beginning our pet store only had the basic pet essetials such as pet food, generic toys(chew toys, scratching posts, etc) and animal crates and cages. Present day inventory has a much greater variety compared to when we first started out. We have expanded in every way we could ranging from increasing the number of brands sold of each product to adding our own veterinarian hospital to each store. |
