DID YOU KNOW…?

1. There are 5 versions of Vista.

Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, Enterprise

CIS supports Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise installed on new machines only.

a. Aero Glass and Windows Meeting Space do not work with Home Basic.

b. Windows Media Center is only available on Home Premium and Ultimate.

c. Remote Desktop Client only available with Business, Ultimate, Enterprise.

d. Complete PC Backup& Restore only available with Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise.

e. Bitlocker only available with Ultimate and Enterprise.

Note: Windows Vista Enterprise is available only to Volume License customers who have PCs covered by Microsoft Software Assurance.

2. Windows Vista comes in both 32 bit and 64 bit.

To find your computer's processor speed, try this:

a. Click the Start button and choose Control Panel. Now choose System and Maintenance, and then click System.

b. View the processor type and speed.

c. Upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit is not an option.

a. 2 GB RAM

b. 256 MB graphics memory

c. Graphics Processor compatible w/ Windows Aero Glass

d. 80 GB Hard Drive w/ 15 GB free

e. DVD-ROM

4. CIS Vista Support Policy:

New Computers: New Vista Compatible/Vista Ready computers, purchased with a supported Vista edition, will receive Basic support from the date of purchase. Clients should be aware of potential application limitations.

Existing computers: Upgrades from an earlier version of Windows to Windows Vista on existing hardware will NOT be supported at this time.
