Baja

The HPI Baja is one of the few large scale cars on the market. Being a large scale rc car this thing houses a 26 to 30.5cc high performance weedwacker style engine that puts out some serious horse power for an engine so small. A highly moddified engine with a special exhaust pipe will put out 7-8 horse power. Just the sheer size of this monster makes it even more fun to drive. At around 3 feet long and 20-30 pounds, this thing can haul up to 50 MPH stock and thats no laughing matter. If it goes out of control its a law suit waiting to happen. There are so many upgrades available for the baja its fantastic. One down side to large scale RCs is the price tag. The starting price is around a grand. But after going crazy with upgrades these machines are going to cost several thousand dollars. But the best part is the noise they make, it is deafening. Its a great way to annoy the neighbors you dont like so much. I would know, I own one.

Savage

The Savage is the most popular Monster Truck available on the market. Its incredibly durrable and can really take a beating when it comes to launching it off jumps. The Savage is powered by a Nitro engine that around around 4.8ccs. Nitro Engines run on a mixture of gasoline, alcohol, and nitro methane. This makes the cost of fuel very high, its about 30 dollars a gallon for this stuff, defiently not cheap. This truck offers a lot of upgrades to improve its durrability and speed. The truck really isnt race worth unless its highly moddified with a new chassis and suspension to make it lower to the ground since the original version is high off the ground and prone to tipping on tight turns. The Savage is a great entry level nitro monster truck for beginners.

RS4 Super Nitro

The HPI RS4 Super Nitro is part of the RS4 family except this version has a longer wheel base that increases the scale of the vehicle. Being an onroad car it has slick tires and a low ground clearance chassis hugging the pavement. The Super Nitro comes stock with a 2.5cc engine that is very easy to manage. Put on a new exhaust pipe to give the car a massive power gain. On road cars are very difficult to race. There are so many factors to on road cars that can ruin a race. Everything needs to be set up perfectly to have a better chance when it comes down to the overall performance of the car. The coolest part about on road cars is the bodies they have. They range from Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches and much more. The RS4 platform is a great start though to a beginner looking to get into the on road car scene.
