3.39 Should skype continue to operate in China under the joint venture with TOM, as decribed in Section 3.5.2? Why or why not?
Nowadays, American companies have business with China in service sector, espically internet. As we know, the Skype is one of biggest commitucation companies in the world. However, there are some special rules in China. When a American company operate business, it has to follow the laws of China. I think Skype shouldn't continue to operate in China under the joint venture with TOM. Tom is chinese communications company, it modifies Skype regular software to suit the laws of China. Before, google was able to serach some matrial that offense chinese government. So Skype has to operate with TOM under Chinese government cenship. In other word, there is no any freedom. TOM Stores much information from million of messages for anayzing, because Chinese governemtn try to arrest dissident. Skeype is a international commitucation tool, people may talk causilly on line, this is people's freedom. So Tom should stop business with China.
