So who is David Arquette? Before the Ready to Rumble movie I had never heard of him before in my life (or have I and I just don't know it?). Now sometimes I don't like to talk about WCW seeing I don't watch all of their shows, but what is the big deal about this guy? From what I've read there is great debate about whether he should be used as much as WCW has used him on TV, but given the fact that he isn't a mega celebrity (right?) - why put so much focus on this guy? Maybe I'm missing something here...Imagine what the WWF could have done with the Beyond the Mat movie if they had chosen to take part in advertising for that. I still haven't seen the movie seeing it is not showing anywhere around here, so I'll have to wait for video. I kind of wanted to see it in a theater though. I did watch some of Nitro on Monday though, and I thought the Ric and David Flair segment was very good. I understand the whole idea behind it, but it seems a little early for David to turn his back on his father. Shouldn't that happen in a few years? Seems like they should have waited til the time was perfect later on after David's been around longer. Though seeing I don't watch WCW in it's entirety, maybe the timing was right and I am totally off base. Anyway, regardless, it was a good segment, even though we knew David was going to attack Ric from behind. I'll try to watch WCW more closely and maybe I'll even watch Thunder tonight. There's only so much time in a week, so it's impossible for me to watch every show. I make it a point to always watch RAW, Smackdown, HEAT, and WWF PPVs (and ECW on TNN just about every week), but the WCW is just when I have some time. I don't really enjoy reading show recaps either. It's almost like if I don't watch it myself, I'd rather not read about it. I certainly don't mind reading results, but I have a hard time reading long details of each match (not that I can't follow it, but it's just too much work, lol). Wrestling interviews, books, and magazines I could read all day if I could though. I'm almost done Bret's book. It's mostly pictures and probably only takes an hour to read. There are no WWF pictures either, and sometimes the photos don't match what the text on that page is even talking about. We know a lot of the information already (at least long-time Bret fans do). So overall I guess it's not as good as the other books that have been out, but it's not horrible either. I really would rather see a more detailed book from Bret.

So I meant to write about my site, but somehow never started on the subject. I decided not to use frames. The main reason for this is that if I use frames then I sort of have to make my pages all have a similar look in order for it to be more effective. I don't really want to do that at this time. I enjoy having different looking pages and don't want to give that up. However, I did want to make the main page a little better and organize what I have. I hope you find it easier and like it better, and keep in mind I'm not done with it yet. Basically I plan to work on all the pages this summer. I'll try to post at the top of the main page what has recently be updated. I have already emailed the winner of the April/May Contest, and will post the June one pretty soon. I'm also going to start some new features with the email news updates I send out, the first of which I'll send out tonight. I should close for now, but please remember I encourage you to participate in my site and there are tons of ways to do so if you look around. Even if you're just reading this, email me, so I know someone is out there reading. I see the hit reports, but it doesn't seem real til I get some feedback.

Last night's RAW was just the best! I even stayed awake through the entire show. Segment after segment I was just enjoying it all. All this without Steve Austin, the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Kane, Tazz, the Hollys, or the Rock. There are a number of people who I feel have either improved tremendously recently, or have finally been given a chance to show their talent. I'm talking about guys like Scotty Too Hotty, Chris Jericho, the Acolytes, etc. All guys that a few months ago I felt were not showing us what they were capable of. I can honestly say there is no one in the WWF right now that I really say to myself "Oh, not them." Let me analyze RAW for a bit. I think starting RAW off with a tag team match is a great idea. I feel they should only start off a show with mic work if someone is returning to the WWF, or has a big announcement, or maybe the night after a Pay Per View. I feel a wrestling match, especially a tag team one, is a great idea to get a show off and running with lots of action and to get the fans in to the show right away. I don't know about anyone else, but when Triple H starts off a show talking in the ring, you don't feel the same as you do after a match or two. I thought last night was perfect, a tag team match, followed by Triple H and the rest of the McMahon-Helmsley group. The crowd was in to the show, the tag match got things off to a good start, and everyone was ready to hear from Triple H, and the announcement he had for us. At first, I was thinking, "Oh no, not another Triple vs. Rock match", but when he said "Iron Man Match", that changed everything. Immediately you have to think of the Iron Man Match between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania, one of the greatest of all time if you ask me. I'm really very excited for this match. It gives hope to those of us who still like to watch wresting matches that the wrestling hasn't been totally subtracted from the World Wrestling Federation. In fact, a lot of other things that I'll get too also point in this direction. Whether or not Triple H and the Rock can keep the fans attention for 60 minutes, I'm not sure, but I am looking forward to it and think it has a lot of potential. Even if it has a controversial ending, out of 60 minutes there's got to be a good match in there somewhere. Speaking of "run-ins", at first I really wasn't sure about Edge and Christian's new attitude. I still think Christian needs a lot of work, but the match with the Acolytes was quite entertaining. And how awesome was Bradshaw's clothesline from hell last night?

Wow, I haven't even gotten to the second match of RAW yet. Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle. I really didn't like Jericho's mic work when he first came to the WWF, but I've grown to like it. His match with Angle was very good. Even though these matches are brief, at least they are good quality matches. It just seems like the crowds quiet down anytime a good old-fashioned match is going on (well, semi-old fashioned). I hope it's not because they're bored, but because they're enjoying it. I did like the clean finish, but I'm amazed they had Angle submit. Angle is so funny, and he certainly has his fans in the audience.

Funny spot at the beginning of the Godfather/Guerrero match, Chyna refusing Godfather's offer. I know a lot of people have a problem with Guerrero's character right now, and I can understand, though he and Chyna do work very well together. Guess the Godfather isn't climbing the rankings anytime soon?

As if anyone believed Gerald Brisco was going to fight the Dudley Boyz himself. Good match, with a huge surprise ending of Brisco putting Buh Buh Ray through a table. Really very entertaining. The WWF really knows how to use it's older stars, and without disrespecting their careers either. Even though Brisco, Patterson, Moolah, and Mae are all basically for entertainment now, everyone still respects what they've done in their careers, at least I think everyone does? It's amazing to me that there are young fans now that do not remember the wrestlers I grew up watching in the 80s, makes you feel kind of old, though a lot of wrestling fans today are newer fans overall. Not that those 4 were at the height of their careers in the 80s, but others. Like no one seemed to understand the Twin Towers reference a few weeks ago, or some others I've heard recently. It always amazed me how no one ever talks about any wrestler that is not currently in a company, as if that wrestler or their history never existed. Nice to see people finally just talking about any past wrestler or past incident they want. I think last night on RAW Jim Ross should have immediately made reference to the Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart Iron Man Match to get us thinking about how great that was.

OK, Big Show vs. Jericho. This is interesting. Jericho comes out like he's all tired from his first match. Well, this seemed awkward to me, because we never see wrestlers displaying that kind of tiredness after a match anymore. Minutes later we'll see them backstage on to something else. It was a little hard to believe, though in reality it should have been. How dumb would the Big Show be to trust Shane again? I think he should go back to his comedy routines.

Vince can certainly be funny, like last night when Stephanie told Vince that he promised Jericho would lose the IC Belt, and he was like "oh yeah", well Jericho can face Chris Benoit now. I know people seem to hate the McMahons, but a lot of times there's a lot of humor in the little things they do.

Great win for Too Cool over Buchanan and Boss Man. I heard somewhere Too Cool will get the tag belts this year. They certainly deserve it. Not to say Brian Christopher isn't a great wrestler, but I've really noticed improvement in Scott Taylor lately, or like I said, maybe he's just been given a chance to show his wrestling ability. I think starting when he was wrestling singles matches while Christopher was out, he really proved he can do singles or tag matches. And really, didn't The Worm get the biggest pop of the night?

Hardy Boyz vs. Saturn and Malenko was pretty good. Nice to see they aren't going to just split up the Radicals with no explanation. Saturn, Malenko, and Benoit haven't been able to really do any mic work that excites the fans, so I'm hoping the fans will appreciate their great wrestling ability.

What do I dare say about Patterson/Road Dogg/X-Pac vs. Rikishi. You just knew DX would be helping Patterson, and as for what Patterson did to Rikishi, as gross as it was, it was pretty funny. What a success Brisco and Patterson were last night? And with all that "Real American" music playing throughout the night, it makes me want to get out some videos from the days of Hulkamania. Nothing can ever replace those days.

Jericho vs. Benoit was another good match (great job by Jericho last night), but how silly was the ending. It's bad enough titles change hands as often as they do, but now they're going to change hands without the title holder even actually losing the match? Jericho never gave up. Oh well. Guess they had to have a title change seeing the Rock and others weren't there. Great show and great job by everyone in the WWF!!!

So much for writing more last week. Anyway, I thought Backlash was great, way better than Wrestlemania!!! It had everything that Wrestlemania should have had. Every match was great if I recall correctly. Scott Taylor has proven he has a successful singles career ahead of him if he so chooses. Great match between he and Malenko. How funny was the Big Show as Hulk Hogan? It was this strange cross between Hogan and Andre the Giant. I have to agree with the King, Big Show does Hogan better than Hogan does Hogan, lol. The fans were so excited. In fact, the crowds for both Backlash and RAW were amazing. I think when the fans are involved (vocally and with signs) it adds to any wrestling show. The Benoit/Jericho match at Backlash was great, but too bad it ended like it did, and so soon. Not that it was a short match, but I wanted to see more. Too bad the Backlash Main Event wasn't a PPV earlier, cause that would have been the perfect Main Event and ending for a Wrestlemania. It is way too early for Austin to turn on the Rock in my opinion. I'm sure that won't happen until Austin is ready to return to a regular schedule in the ring. Hey, how come no one seemed to care about Debra at Backlash? Are people forgotten that easily? Pretty good women's tag last night on RAW. Amazing reaction for the Dudleys (I still think Trish has a long way to go to reach the level of the other WWF women). Though I know talent is not going to matter in her case anyway. All right now, Kurt Angle's been losing way too much lately, it's true, it's true. I don't recall anyone in recent years that has shown so much talent so quickly. I'm sure one day he'll be a huge fan favorite. Vince, sometimes it gets a little annoying listening to him yell at everyone. It's ok once in awhile, but all throughout the show? Who wants to listen to that after a long day? lol. It is funny when he starts to talk, and then yells at the crowd, or when he said the wrong city that he was in. Stephanie is doing a great job. Everyone tells me how annoying she is, and that the WWF should get her off the air. Well, seeing that's how you feel, then she's doing her job correctly. She irritates the fans so easily, but I find there's a lot of humor in many of the things she says and does. Actually there's a lot of people who are pretty funny these days, like Crash Holly, and even Cousin Hardcore. The Hardcore match at Backlash was far better than the one at Wrestlemania as well. When Chris Jericho first arrived I used to say I was waiting for the day when he would impress me in a WWF ring, well that day has come. His matches have been very good lately. It's so hard though, cause matches end so soon. I'd love to see longer matches, but I guess that won't be happening anytime soon, except for the Main Events.

On to other stuff. I finished DDP's book, and just started Bret Hart's book. I definitely recommend DDP's book. Who can keep up with all the reading? Wrestler books, WOW Magazine, WWF Mag, RAW Mag, etc. etc.

Here's a quick update on my site. I still have plans for a new look. I may redo the site using frames, I am not sure yet. I need to update several pages and figure out what to keep and what to add. I may also be doing another wrestler page, like that of Big Bully Busick and Ric Drasin. There's still tons of ways you can contribute to my site, such as: 1) the monthly trivia contests, 2) sending in info for the calendar, 3) sending in questions for Big Bully Busick, 4) writing arena reports of shows you go to, or have gone to, 5) finding good links for me to add, 6) answering questions, or asking questions in the "Do you know the answer?" section, 7) etc. etc. There's plenty of opportunities and I will try to promote all these things as soon as I can. It is much more enjoyable to maintain the site when people are participating or when I know they like visiting it. Have a good week everyone!
