- Mariah was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital the night of April 3, 2000 for dehyrdation and complications from food poisoning. While in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend, Mariah ate raw oysters and became seriously ill.
- At the February 23, 2000 Grammy Awards "When You Believe" was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals and Best Song Written For A Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.
- The "Thank God I Found You" single was released in the USA on January 25, 2000, and reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for issue date February 19, 2000. I believe this covers the week of 2/1-2/7/00. Congratulations to Mariah!! "Thank God I Found You" has become Mariah's 15th #1 Single!!!
- On January 25, 2000 "Mariah Carey Valentines" CD was released. This is ONLY available at Walmart Stores
- Mariah made a brief appearance on January 8, 2000 on FOX's Mad TV. She was also listed in the advertisements for the UNCF's "An Evening of Stars", but her contribution was not shown on television :(

- Mariah sings on one song, "The Things That You Do", from Jay-Z's newest album. Mariah's #1s Video Collection is also now in stores!

- Mariah appeared on LIVE! with Regis and Kathie Lee on December 14, 1999 to promote her FOX Mariah Carey Homecoming '99 Special (which was taped October 30, 1999)
- Mariah received the "Artist of the Decade" award at the 1999 Billboard Music Awards on December 8, 1999. She was presented this award by Patti Labelle. Mariah was not even advertised to be on the show, but obviously made an appearance to accept this great honor. Congratulations Mariah!

- "Rainbow" debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. However! Mariah sold 322,800 copies in the first week of sales, which is an all-time record for Mariah in first week sales! (1998's #1s Album had 210,000 copies sold in its first week of sales.) "Rainbow" remained at #2 and sold 228,000 copies its second week of release. "Rainbow" dropped to #7 in week 3. "Rainbow" is currently at #12 in its 4th and 5th week of release.
- The "Thank God I Found You" video is now playing on MTV and VH-1.
- "Heartbreaker" is #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has gone Gold! It was #1 for 2 weeks. This is Mariah's 14th #1 Hit! Mariah also just passed the Beatles as being the artist with the most total weeks at #1. Congratulations Mariah!

- The Ultimate Grammy Box features Mariah's performance of "Vison of Love".
- Mariah said on MTV (11/2) that after this promotional World Tour for "Rainbow" she will be working on her movie, "All that Glitters". She said she plans to tour in support of that project. So hopefully we will see a tour in late 2000/early 2001!
- Mariah appeared on NBC's "Today Show" on November 1, 1999. She was originally scheduled to appear on Bryant Gumbel's new show, "The Early Show". Due to a proper permit not being obtained in time for an outdoor show, Mariah decided to appear on the "Today Show", after her picture was in ads for "The Early Show". Mariah sang Heartbreaker, Mariah's Theme, and Hero. She talked about how she just bought Marilyn Monroe's piano for about $600,000.00
- Mariah made her movie debut in New Line Cinema's "The Bachelor" on November 5, 1999. In the movie, Mariah plays Ilana, an opera singer, ex-girlfriend, and potential bride to star Chris O'Donnell, who has 24 hours to get married and collect $100 million. Mariah will also star in and record the soundtrack for Columbia Pictures' "All That Glitters." The movie is based on an idea of Mariah's about a singer who is discovered by a DJ whom she becomes involved with and eventually leaves when her success challenges his need for control.
- The "Heartbreaker" and "Thank God I Found You" videos can now be seen on MTV, and heard on the radio. The video is directed by Brett Ratner and features Jay-Z. The single was released September 21, 1999.
- Mariah appears on "Pavarotti & Friends for Guatemala and Kosovo", singing Hero (w/Pavarotti) and My All. This concert was held June 1, 1999 in Modena, Italy, and also featured Ricky Martin, B.B. King, Gloria Estefan, and Joe Cocker.

- "Mariah Carey Around The World" is now available as a home video
and DVD.
- Mariah has been named a national spokesperson for Nickelodeon’s The Big Help, the network’s year-round campaign which empowers kids to volunteer in their communities. Carey will participate in the network’s
annual Big Help-a-thon this fall. Mariah participated in a park makeover in New York City on April 24, 1999 to celebrate the network’s Big Help Week. Mariah joined Nickelodeon and children from New York in working on five city parks.
- #1's has become the best-selling foreign album in Japan of all-time.
- The international version of "#1s" features 5 new songs. It has 1 extra new song, a cover, called "do you know where you're going". There is also a version of #1s out there with Spanish versions of 3 hits.
- Chris Nickson, author of "Mariah Carey - Her Story", has released "Mariah Carey Revisited".
- Mariah is on both JD and Kelly Price's debut albums.
- A live version of "Hero" is on the Diana, Princess of Wales: Tribute album.

I saw Mariah in concert at the Worcester Centrum in Worcester, MA on November 9, 1993. It was a great show and she sang all her hits. She began with "Emotions" and ended with "Vision of Love."
