I'm watching the E! Story on Hogan right now, and it looks like it will be pretty boring. We all know the story, and it doesn't look like any WWF footage will be shown. However, it's just started, so we'll see I guess.

I thought the Boss Man/Big Show angle was over. Actually, I don't care if they continue to feud, but I thought all that disgusting stuff they were doing with Big Show's parents was over. I have no idea how they could think anyone would want to view that. The Big Show is one wrestler that may have made a mistake leaving WCW. The fans don't seem to like the Big Show much, or it's not even that, there's just nothing to be excited about so far. Hopefully that will change. So far he's fought with Steve Austin, HHH, Boss Man, he's been to the top, won the title, yet it doesn't seem like it happened. I'm not surprised to hear he will be losing the title soon. It's really too bad. Maybe when the Undertaker returns he will gain the credibility he needs.

What wrestler do I believe will make it in the next year or two? Kurt Angle. I think he's great. It reminds me of when Rocky Maivia arrived. He got the same type of reaction. Long before the Rock took the mic regularly, I had said they should let him give interviews and everyone told me I must be the only Rock fan on Earth. I guess things change!! So I'm saying it right now about Angle. (Seeing there's no WWF footage here, at least we get to see lots of photos/footage of Hogan that I've never seen. I can't wait to see how they handle the WWF years - the most important years too!).

I finally enjoy watching HHH. It sure took long enough, but the McMahon-Helmsley Era is hilarious. RAW and Smackdown were great this week. At first I thought Stephanie teaming with HHH was stupid, but once she reminded us all of what Vince had done, it all falled in to place. Stephanie does a much better job with HHH. Let's see, what matches could they make for RAW this Monday? How about Patterson vs. Brisco, Test vs. Acolytes, Mankind vs. New Age Outlaws, or why not HHH vs. Big Show? Why wouldn't he give himself a title shot? I wonder how long HHH and Stephanie will stay together though. It has occurred to me that HHH will dump her after he gets everything he wants, like the WWF Title!

We all know why Steve Austin isn't on TV, but why isn't Debra at least at RAW once and awhile? I know they're a couple, but it seems the WWF could use Debra, unless they have a plan of course. She may come back and find a new #1 lady though, like The Kat. Speaking of the women, Tori has come a lot further than I ever thought she would. Lots of couples lately: Kane and Tori, HHH and Stephanie, Mark Henry and Mae Young, Luna and Gangrel, (we're up to 1982 on Hogan's story).

Nice to see Scott Taylor finding some success after years of hard work.

Val who?

I know everyone seems to like Chris Jericho, but I still don't understand what all the excitement is all about. I'm still waiting for the great wrestling matches everyone says he can have.

I prefer Ivory's old music please!

I've become more interested in ECW lately. The Impact Players are my favorites right now. I give ECW credit for having some great matches. They may have a lot of commercials and promos on TNN, but once down to business it's great. It's too bad things didn't work out for Chris and Tammy this time around. Tammy was once the #1 woman in wrestling, and I thought she and Chris could make it to the top again.

It's hard to believe I saw the Hardy Boyz wrestle in a small high school gym just a year ago. They're a great team, and so far they and Edge and Christian have been able to keep their matches interesting. Notice I said matches! No long interviews, no props, nothing but wrestling matches so far and it still keeps the fans attention! Pay attention everyone. There's a great article in the latest WOW Magazine about this, letting the matches tell the story. (Looks like they're going to cover the WWF years in pictures only - referring to the E! Story on Hogan).

I can't wait to get the Rock's book. I read the first chapter at his website. I also went through the Smackdown Hotel for the first time yesterday. I recommend everyone check it out. Just go to his WWF website. It seems the Rock's being careful that his speeches don't become old, he hasn't been giving them on both RAW and Smackdown each week. Though he is one wrestler I don't mind listening to, I think it's a good idea. Actually he comes up with more things than Austin did. Or it could be that his sayings allow for more of a variety. There's tons of things you can do with "It doesn't matter....", or "Do you like....?". What's great about the Rock is that he brings in new things kind of without you noticing. He keeps his familar sayings in each interview, but may bring in something new to see how it goes. (Clearly the best part of this Hogan story will be what I just saw, Hogan and Heenan walking us through some of the WM III Andre/Hogan match. Those were the days, right?)

Oh, Hulk just said the Warrior was one-dimensional and they had to give the belt back to Hogan to keep things going. Maybe so, but maybe not.

I'm looking forward to the "Man on the Moon" movie. Be sure to watch the Andy Kaufman: I'm from Hollywood special on Comedy Central near Christmas time if you haven't already seen it. The King sure can keep a secret can't he? I've never heard him reveal any of what went on behind the scenes.

So much to talk about, so little time. Send in your comments and I'll try to write more soon.

Did anyone else recognize the lady on Nitro as being former WWF wrestler Bertha Faye? I watched the first hour of Nitro and was kind of disappointed. Why are they having matches in the mud now? Isn't that a little too obvious. Plus, why make fun of JR? I realize the WWF made fun of WCW personalities several years ago, but it just shows how important the WWF is to them. They should just do their own thing and forget about the WWF. The new writing team's influence doesn't seem to work as well in WCW. Sometimes I think people who write these shows try just a little bit too hard. It's odd because I like so many of the WCW wrestlers, but just not the show. RAW on the otherhand was pretty good last night. I had been thinking that DX would surround the ringside area or something before the wedding seeing Vince can't go near them. Then when they did their interview and HHH started talking about that stipulation, I thought maybe I was right. However, what they did do was far better. I guess that wedding song was written for the WWF? that used to be Randy and Elizabeth's song as well. Even though last night was great, I'm not sure how they could follow up on this. Probably the HHH/McMahon match at the next PPV will be for Stephanie. I think bringing Al Snow in to the Rock/Mankind angle is great, I was thinking that might start to get boring, but now there are endless possibilities. If I haven't already said it, Mankind's book is great. I'm almost done now. I'm thinking about doing something at my site with it, possibly having people write in their thoughts of the book to be posted. Instead of just a general "It was great" or "It was awful", I'd rather have people talk about specific examples. Guess that's all for right now.

I can't believe it's been so long since I last wrote. My goal is to write every weekend from now on. A lot of you have already written to me about the WWA Arena Report that I did. Glad to see people are still visiting my site, and appear to still find it interesting. Like you may have saw, I'm about 80% done "Have a Nice Day". I don't really want to say too much about it until I'm done. So far I can say that it is a book every wrestling fan should read. Believe me, it goes by fast too! Usually I find my mind wandering when I'm reading about matches instead of seeing them, but in this book, the description is so good that you really feel like you're at ringside watching all of Mick's greatest moments in the ring. Not to mention you'll learn more about the business and about many of the people in the business. I've said enough, it's better to just read it on your own, really. I've read Ted Dibiase's book, Arn Anderson's book, etc. and this is by far the best.

Reading the book though has made me think about hardcore wrestling a lot. Overall, I do enjoy it. Sometimes I think the things that are done are unnecessary, especially when things are done that put the fans at risk. If the wrestlers want to risk serious injury in these matches, that is their choice, but fighting out in the audience does little for the match. What actually gets accomplished fighting through a crowd of people? When you think about it, not much. I'm not saying the fight has to stay in the ring or at ringside, take it anywhere, I don't care, but in the crowd makes little sense. I realize the fans go crazy when the wrestlers go out in to the crowd and I'm sure that's why it will continue to happen. I'm just saying that it doesn't accomplish much for the actual match. Boiler room brawls are fine, taking it backstage, etc. is all great. One of my favorite matches was Hardcore Holly vs. Al Snow taking it all the way to the river. I guess I'm thinking about it cause I had a hardcore match end up right behind me the other night. I admit, the crowd goes nuts when they are in the middle of the action, so why even bother writing about this, right? Hardcore doesn't necessarily have to spill outside of the ringside area either, as Mankind and Undertaker's Hell in a Cell match proves.

Kevin Kelly has got to be the worst announcer in history. I try to give him a chance, but tonight on HEAT it was awful. I'd rather see Jim Cornette call the action with Michael Cole. Too bad Cornette wasn't still on tv. I'll always remember him asking me how I enjoyed the matches when I met him. I said they were great, when it had in fact been a Superstars of Wrestling taping and the matches were probably the worst I'd ever. Oh well, I had my chance. But I was impressed that Jim would even ask. It shows how much he cares about what he does for a living.

I'm glad to see the fans finally responding to Moolah and Mae Young. Signs are starting to appear on tv. Speaking of which, the latest RAW magazine has some hints on how to get your signs on tv. So before I read the article I'm thinking they're going to tell you when to hold them up, what colors to use, where the best place to be standing is, etc. Instead, it sort of basically says to stop bringing the same old signs to the events, and more or less says some things that I think could upset some sign waving fans. On the one hand they say make any sign you want (without profanity of course), but on the other hand, don't bring signs that say "this, this and that". I'd think they would be happy to see an arena full of "Austin 3:16" signs again. I don't think anything was as impressive as that used to be. Speaking of Steve, we all wish him the best of luck of course!

I have a lot more I want to write about, but will do so later this week. Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Hi again everyone! I suppose most of you know that tomorrow night is Jeff Jarrett's last match in the WWF before he leaves for WCW. When Jarrett first came back to the WWF I predicted he would become WWF Champion one day, but that has not happened. He won the IC belt, but no World title. Even though Jarrett seems to have impressed few fans, I happen to think he had a great future. From the NWA angle on, Jarrett has proven he is a great wrestler. His most recent feud with Chyna has proven that he is also capable of being a great entertainer. Was it his fault that he hasn't been able to show that until now, I obviously don't know. If the rumor is true that Steve Austin refused to fight Jarrett, that is a big mistake. I believe Jarrett was just about to reach Main Event status within the next year, but for one reason or another, it is not going to happen. It seemed Jeff came to the WWF because he felt he could have greater success rather than in WCW, and now it appears he is leaving the WWF for the same reason. Unless WCW is planning on changing it's ways, I'm not sure Jeff will find the success he is looking for in WCW either. No matter what anyone says, I think this is a big loss for the WWF, and a great gain for WCW if they use him correctly. Jarrett could have great matches with guys like Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, etc. Good luck Jeff!

So where does all this leave Debra? Somehow I can't picture her joining forces with Steve Austin, and she's not a wrestler, and she doesn't seem the type to go the way Sable did when she and Mero split, .... and what will happen to Miss Kitty? I think Debra and Jeff were a great team, and it's going to be hard to match her up with someone and have the same chemistry that she and Jeff had.

There's been a lot of talk about Chris Jericho lately. I've heard a number of things, one being that the WWF plans to make him work his way to the top, instead of putting him there immediately like they seemed to do when he arrived. I admit I really don't watch WCW much, and everyone always said Jericho was really great, but from his performance in the WWF so far, I guess I just don't get it. I find him rather boring, and his matches have been pretty bad except maybe one or two. To be fair though, Chris has admitted that the best is yet to come. When I heard Chris was coming to the WWF, and based on his reputation, I was preparing to see great matches like we haven't seen in so long. I'm still waiting. This is not to say that I have any doubts about Chris, I'm just still waiting. As far as him having to work his way to the top, of course he should, but why hasn't the Bulldog had to? One thing I think WCW did a great job with was having Sid work his way to the top. We all know Sid is a Main Event star, but he's got to work his way up the rankings like every other newcomer. Of course he's doing a great job of it, but it still should be done. I'm a little concerned about Big Show. He was brought in and basically put in that top bracket of wrestlers, and all of a sudden he fell and is finding himself having to work his way up again. It sort of makes him look bad. Here was his grand entrance from WCW, and now look, he's being pinned by the Big Boss Man. I guess the main point is that it's hard to follow any kind of pattern in terms of wrestlers working their way up the ladder. One minute they're on top, the next they're not, some guys are working hard to get title shots, some are just handed them, and so on. Not that titles really seem to mean that much anymore anyway.

ECW has been pretty good the last few weeks. They have too many commercials and interruptions, but when they do show a match, it's great. I don't recall seeing all these commercials and promos when I watched one of their shows a year ago. They only have an hour, so they should fill it as best they can. It's good that they have stars new ECW fans recognize, like Tammy and Raven. This will help draw people in. ECW seems to be filled with talent, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the TNN show progresses. Storm vs. Candido was great last night.

How could I write all this time without mentioning Vince Russo, lol. There's so much being said, and it seems a little sad what some people are saying. Russo said the WWF schedule was getting to be too much and he wanted more time with his family, what is so wrong with that? It's sad that a person can't seem to leave a wrestling promotion without comments being made after their departure. I'm sure the WWF will survive, and if he did great work, they should say so. There is nothing wrong with that even if he is leaving. I'm not sure he'll have much influence in WCW, but who knows? Whatever happens it should be interesting. As far as people saying he doesn't care about wrestling and he is more concerned about being a tv show writer, hasn't that what the WWF has been claiming they are all along? A Sports ENTERTAINMENT TV show? I have no doubt the WWF will continue to have a great show, and I guess we'll see just how good Russo is in the next few months at WCW.

Announcers: the only announcer WCW has that I like is Bobby Heenan, and he is no where near as funny as he was in the WWF. I used to think Tony did a good job in the WWF, but now it's all about promoting what will happen, instead of what is happening in the ring. That is one good thing about JR. He does tend to stay focused on what is happened most of the time. He and the King are great together, and Michael Cole is ok in my opinion. I don't always agree with JR's viewpoints, but that would be boring if I did, right? I still prefer the announce teams from the 80s. Gorilla was one of the best and will be missed by everyone, especially for those of us who grew up listening to Gorilla call the matches. Gorilla and Ventura were the greatest team of all time in my opinion. Vince and Ventura, Heenan and Gorilla, Heenan and Vince, etc. they were all great!!! Now there's only one announce team I care for. I've been thinking lately JR and the King need a third announcer.

Those things in the ads at the WWF website that go back and forth across your screen sure are annoying. Plus, everything you want to see/hear at that site you have to have downloaded something in order to see/hear it. I've been too lazy to do that so far, so I just skip by most everything. Why can't they make it easy? Their site is the best though in terms of overall look, and variety. It's great, but I just wish you didn't have to download this to do this, etc. One minute I'm reading from a WWF media that internet fans start too many false rumors, the next minute I'm reading JR say some of the fans on the Internet have great ideas, the next minute they think they know what's really going on, etc. Which is it? A better thing would be to combine the two, "many internet sites post false information about the business, but many sites are done by fans with great ideas who know what they're talking about", or whatever they want to say. One thing for sure, it is not smart to put all internet fans in to one category, because the internet fans all watch the shows, buy the merchandise, etc. and to alienate them seems silly. Let the WWF website speak for itself, which it does.

So when are the Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young wrestling Patterson and Brisco? I think it's great having these legends involved. It seems the fans don't know how to react to Moolah and Young, should they cheer? should they boo? should they clap in honor? should they bring signs? etc. Hopefully the age factor will not make people uncomfortable and they can start getting the reaction they deserve.

Thinking of Moolah made me think of Sherri Martel, and thus the "Heroes of Wrestling" PPV. Yes, I ordered the PPV, no, I would not recommend it. I thought it had great potential and was looking forward to it. The fact was, some of the advertised names did not appear on the show, most of the wrestlers could barely move, and it was just boring. I knew going in to it that it was not going to be anywhere near like a WWF or WCW PPV, but it didn't matter. We did not even get to see the promised Main Event of Yokozuna vs. King Kong Bundy. I don't know what was wrong with Jake Roberts, but it was embarrassing. Why was he making those gestures? I won't go on about that. In all fairness, the One Man Gang vs. Abdullah the Butcher match was ok. Pretty much what I expected. I said before the George Steele/Greg Valentine match that Sherri was really on the Hammer's side, and I was right. She did a great job, and I'm still waiting for her return to the WWF (someday?). She's the best female manager of all time if you ask me. It will be interesting to see if they offer another PPV. I know quite a few people who bought it. I'm thinking they might offer another one seeing I think this one had quite a few buys (anyone know the actual number?), but that most people who saw this one will not order another one.

I'm working on my website and answering email as much as I can. I can't make any promises about when things will be done. There's just not enough time in the day. Thanks to everyone who continues to visit the site and I'm always hoping to improve it, hopefully soon. The pictures will probably get updated first. I've got some great ones coming. The only one I've added recently is of World Wrestling Alliance star Superbad Steve Bradley. I hope to go to another one of their shows when they return to my area. I'm glad independent promotions seem to be doing ok in the last few years. It's hard though to read about them when you don't know the wrestlers. I'm not really good at reading about and visualizing matches between wrestlers that I don't know. The WWA has featured a lot of wrestlers before they became big stars, like HHH, the Hardy Boyz, Prince Albert, Shawn Stasiak, Scott Taylor, and tons more.

Viscera needs a new gimmick.

The Rock and Sock connection is one of the most entertaining angles ever done in pro wrestling. While I'm not all that impressed with the Rock's wrestling, we all love to listen to his remarks. I'd like to see less punching and kicking, and more of a variety of moves from the Rock. He needs to come up with some new ones, look how successful the Rock Bottom and People's Elbow are. Just like his commentary is always changing, so shouldn't his wrestling moves. Imagine, eventually he could get to a point where the fans are cheering loudly for almost every single move he does. Is the Rock becoming more popular than Austin? Several things suggest that is the case. For example, my local University student paper often has students quoting lines from the Rock. Every store featuring something of Austin's, now has the Rock right beside him. As hard as it may be to imagine, it may be time for Austin's much rumored heel turn.

So why isn't the Blue Meanie joining forces with Stevie Richards?

I think I'm gonna miss Jeff Jarrett's entrance music too. I was hoping it would be on the next WWF album. I'll bet the Godfather's music is on there.

I'm still hoping Bart Gunn will return to the WWF, and we can get beyond the Brawl for All. Why not feature a great athlete? Just because he lost to Butterbean? I'll forget about it if everyone else will.

There's been a lot of talk about why the British Bulldog has returned to the WWF. If I read the article correctly in RAW magazine, it seems Davey Boy was planning to come back before Owen's accident. Davey boy says it was an accident, and that he made the wrong choice going to WCW. As far as Bret goes, I have always figured that if Owen could stay in a company that supposedly double-crossed Bret so badly, then there's more to the story. He must not have saw things the same way, as Davey Boy doesn't. If Bret ever returned to the WWF, I guess that would pretty much show the whole Survivor Series incident wasn't what it appeared to be.

Not much WCW talk here. I really don't watch it because I watch WWF first. I have been watching on Saturday Nights and that WCW show seems to be the same thing week after week. Hey, they even call Duggan Mr. Saturday Night. The WWF makes every show exciting, and that's what WCW needs to do. There's a lot of WCW stars that I like though, like Sid, Goldberg, DDP, Chris Benoit, Kidman, Dean Malenko, Randy Savage, and Eddy Guerrero. Who are my favorite ECW stars? .. Chris Candido, Tammy, Justin Credible, Lance Storm, and Tajiri.

I better get going, even though I could go on and on....Send email if you have any comments.
