The Durham House of Pets was founded in 1969 by Jack Douglas who was an extremely powerful and witty entrepreneur from Nashville Tennessee. Douglas was 20 years old when he first started Durham House of Pets and had the inspiration of doing so after his mother refused to get him a pet of his own when he was 17. He never let that go and held a grudge until the day he died in 2009. In D-Hop's early years of operations resources and services were limited simply because Douglas' mother would not allow him to expand to far with out first going to school. With this being said Douglas offered walking, feeding, cleaning and grooming services to what started out as just the locals in his town. By 23 Douglas' business had quickly flourished into a full grown retail store after he finished his schooling. D-Hop offers all sorts of dog apparel, cat toys, fish tanks and of course all the food any pet would desire. The Durham House of Pets is all about making each one of a customers pets happier then when they entered the store. Our prices are competitive if not cheaper then any other pet store in the area simply because we like doing business and making people happy and when people find out their dollar can go so much farther at our store it is a true joy for all. We also like to have personal connections with our costumers pets ultimately to make even the pet want to come to our store. Our employees are extremely well trained and the most friendly people pets will ever encounter. With the hard work of Jack Douglas and his support system of friendly staff and family the Durham House of Pets has expanded all over the world with the most well known shop being located in Durham, New Hampshire. In years to come D-Hop hopes to expand even further and every new customer makes that dream even more of a reality. |
