History

Founded in 1912 by Lord Cornelius Haraktsis, AniMart has been one of the leading pet providers ever since.While immigrating over from Greece to America, Lord Haraktsis, accompanied by his 14 pets, had a hard time finding food, apparel, and toys for his 14 little friends. He thought this was ridiculous and no man should ever have to keep his little cutie pies without food or toys. So he set out on a quest. With just lint and a two dollar bill in his pocket, and a very pet loving heart, Cornelius rented a store on 76th street in New York. Within weeks everyone was going wild for his products,they loved his new dog food, and his kitty bath robes, and of course the unbelievable fish tanks.Now, 100 years later, the store is still proudly running in the same building, with almost the same products. We have kept the idea just like Cornelius did, that pets are people to, and no little cutie pie should be kept without food or toys.
