The hosts for the 2018 and the 2022 were voted fo in December 2010 and US was basically guarenteed to get one of them, most likely 2022. So who better to send over there to promote why the Greatest Country in the World should have the Honor to host the Most Popular sport in the world, that would be Bill Clinton, Landon Donovan, and Morgan Freeman. Could not have picked a better lineup.
Bill Clinton was and obvious choice, really, he is the only living President that people can respect. I mean he built the U.S. economy to surpluses it could only dream of nowadays. Plus it helps when you do not have to deal with a war while being leader of the free world.
Landon Donovan is soccer. No other American has played in more FIFA world cup games and they guy scores goals ( a lot), enough said.
If someone has to give a speech, well there is no one better than Morgan Freeman. I mean the man inspired millions by talking about penguins. I challenge anyone to top that.
So after that stellar lineup, you would think it was in the bag. But Quatar (pronounce however you please) comes out of nowhere, throws big bag of Cash in FIFA's direction and boom, introducing the host for 2022 World Cup. Now that hurt.
