THE WORLD... of Warcraft

Hunters: Hunters are a class that use ranged weapons, such as bows and guns, against foes, and also acquire the aide of a pet. This is what makes hunters very popular to new players (hence why it was the first class I rolled). Like all classes hunters have 3 different specializations they can choose from, each one honing in on different strong suits of a class. In some cases it can make the difference between a character being a healer, a DPS, or a Tank. Hunters, however, exist solely for DPS, but there are three different ways to do so, the Survival Spec, Beast Mastery Spec, or Marksmanship Spec. The survuval Spec focuses on a hunters skills at setting traps, and shooting venom covered arrows. It's good for explosive and fast damage, and allows a player to be a bit tricky in a fight. Beat Mastery focuses on a hunter and their pet. The pet's stats get a significant boost, and spells become available for the hunter that enhance the pet's power for short bursts of time. It also allows for the hunter to tame 'exotic' beasts, basically, beasts with better skills and stats than other pets, such as the ability to heal the hunter, or even revive fallen players! However, this spec with it's bonuses, generally does less damage than the other two specs, but makes the hunter more hardy for playing alone, using the pet as a tank or a healer. Then there's marksmanship, this is all about shooting things and shooting them good. It gives the hunter a mulitude of different shots, powerful shots, however, it eats up a hunter's engery so they frequently need shoot a 'steady shot' to regain energy. Steady shot is a fairly weak shot, and it has an annoyingly long cast time, thus making this class tricky to handle for the inexperienced.
