Excel is one of the single most important tools anyone can use. Excel can be used in its most basic form as a simple spreadsheet, but has many advanced features that a lot of people don't know about. There are several formulas that are handy financial planners, such as the Breakeven formula, which considers all of the costs of our business and subtracts them from our profits to tell us if our business will earn a profit or if it will just barely break even. Another formula will even show how much of a certain product needs to sell and at what price to breakeven or reach some goal income. There are also sorting tools that allow the user to serach and sort certain key terms and information. We tend to use Excel for budgeting and tracking our expenditures. We prepare a lot of graphs and charts using Excel and integrate them into our reports.
