Management Information Systems

All undergraduate students enrolled as Business Administration majors are required to take several foundation classes including ADMN410 (Management Information Systems). In this class you will gain essential management skills using MS Excel, MS Access, and Web Development tools.

In addition, you will learn practical and proven skills that will enhance your competitiveness in the workplace. Since your instructor is a veteran of corporate IT management and development, he will stress the most relevant and useful skills which may be expected on your first job. Some of these skills include:

  1. The ability to make quantitative and intelligent business decisions using proven models.
  2. The ability to translate ambiguous user requests into unambiguous specifications.
  3. The skills to develop high level database models derived from customer specifications.
  4. The vocabulary to communicate functional design requirements to software engineers.
  5. The ability to design and execute useful reports, metrics, macros, and database interfaces.
