Jimi Hendrix is a great american guitarist and is one of the most influential guitarists in rock history. Hendrix was self taught and "strove to combine what he called earth, a blues, jazz, or funk driven rhythm accompaniment, with space, the high-pitched psychedelic sounds." He is a great guitarist and played in very historical concerts such as woodstock. He died at the age of 27 however his legend lives on in the rock and roll hall of fame when he was inducted in 1992
