| This trip was a week long environmental training class. Unlike my trip to
Mississippi this was a training class that provided the basics of environmental management. My family was able to join me on this trip (which always makes a training trip more fun for me!). Being as this was the first visit to D.C. for all of us, and I was stuck in class until 5:00 every evening, I was very glad that my family was there to take photos of the Smithsonian museums (which all happen to close at 5:00)! Seeing the Veitnam Memorial as a military member was such a humbling experience. I had seen the traveling wall years ago as it made it's tour through my home town, but the real thing had a completely different somberness to it. The week we were there was just days before the opening of the World War II memorial that is featured in the picture on the bottom left. |
