History
The Pine Valley Furniture Company was founded in 1913 by George and Evelyn Livenstein in Evanston, IL. The company has not stopped creating, manufacturing, and selling furniture since then. Originally Pine Valley Inc. sold household and outdoor chairs for local families. George developed the idea of expanding the business to making all types of furniture including beds, dressers, wardrobes, and tables after the business began to take off. When Evelyn decided to add employees they adopted the revinvented assembly line format from Henry Ford and used it for manufacturing the furniture. Not before long the company was making deliveries throughout much of Illinois. By 1950 the company expanded to a larger wearhouse allowing the company to grow it's product line tremendously, especially in the office and home furniture lines. They began to sell to more states around the region and even export out of the area into other parts of the country for special orders. Today the company remains family owned as it has for generations. We at Pine Valley Inc. now are frequent distributors to the entire Great Lakes Region.
