Theme
My webpage is going to be a business page for the restaurant The Whale's Tale Restaurant and Pub in Hampton Beach, NH. I have worked at the Whale's Tale for three summers, so I have a vast amount of knowledge about the establishment. The theme and presentation will be a guide about the restaurant that will provide customers with an abundance of information that they may be wondering about the restaurant. This would include, seasonal opening and closing, hours, directions, promotions etc. My site will be different than other business sites because it will not simply be for promotion and advertising. It will provide a "behind the scenes" look at the restaurant. Patrons visiting other sites cannot retrieve the important information that only a day to day employee would know. I will be honest and informative about menu items and certain aspects of the restaurant to inform guests of the little things people are concerned about when they go out to eat.
Goals
I have two main goals in creating this website, first and foremost I would like to be very informative to the customers. Second, I would like to also be promotional for my workplace. I would like to have customers access any important information they did not know or are specifically looking for without all of the advertising that people see on other business webpages. Secondly, I would like to promote business for The Whale's Tale. I want people to be informed of all of the pros of eating at the Whale's Tale. This will include any nightly specials, bar deals or anything else that could draw customers into our restaurant.
Navigational Scheme
My navigational scheme will be rather simple. I am hoping to create subsections of the page (menu) (hours) (promotions) etc. I will use intra-document links to allow users easy navigation around the site.
