In 1962 Richard Kay opened Dickie's Bakery in Dover, New Hampshire. It was an instant success and became so popular he couldn't handle the bakery alone. His daughter Darlene worked for Richard while she was in high school and became intrigued with the baking business. Within 5 years Darlene took over the ownership of Dickie's Bakery. The business continued to grow, providing the Dover community with wonderful baked goods including their famous cupcakes that people would travel miles to get. Darlene's husband Jeffrey joined the business and they decided to only focus on their award winning cupcakes and rename the business after their daughter, Cailey.
