The webpage I will be making for my final project is going to be a business page will about the restaurant I work at. The name of it is Lakeside Restaurant and it is located in Kingston New Hampshire. I have worked there for almost four years now and I am also a manager. The restaurant is a fmaily style, casual restaurant. We serve many different kinds of food although our specialty is seafood. We have many other things on out menu as well such as meats, pastas, salads, burgers and other sandwhiches. For the webpage I am going to show what kind of a restaurant it is through description with words as well as through pictures. I will ahve pictures of not only the restaurant, inside and out but of the grounds around it and the lake. I will also include shots of the staff at work. Another thing I am hoping to be able to include is out menu as well as information about the functions we can put on. We have a lot of people book birthdays and showers at our restaurant either for full service waitressing or for our breakfast buffet.

Goals

Goals I need to focus on are the time factor, my audience, representation of the restaurant, effectiveness and graphics. I need to make sure I get everything done in order for this to be a great webpage because the restaurant is probably going to use afterwards our customers to be able to get information especially about functions. Alot of detail will definitely be spent on developing that part of the webpage. My audience is probably going to be the older generation. Many of our customers are elderly and not computer friendly, many of the people who will be looking at our website will be potential customers checking out the menu and people looking to get information about the restaurant maybe to plan their parents 75th birthday party for example. The website needs to have enough information on it to be effective and to help the customers out. If it isn't effective in answering their questions about such things as future functions, it may turn them away from having the occasion at our restaurant. I need to make sure my graphics are really good and are a good representation of what our restaurant is really like. Having some good, friendly photos of oour staff would be very encouraging for potential customers as well.

Navigational Scheme

I think that one thing I will use a lexicon to have different categories such as menu, functions, pictures, directions and staff. When clicked on it will bring the person to the part of the webpage and at the end of the information I will include a back to top link. I will also include a mailto picture link. The picture will be of my bosses who are the owners of the restaurant and the link will be their email address so they can answer any questions or set up any functions or it will be of myself with my email and that would work also.
