History and Background:

Victory Sports Emporium was founded in 1967 by the brother duo of Johnny and Richie Federico. The family-owned and operated store was one of the first of its kind within the Durham area. The initial 700 sqaure foot store with only 6 employees has endured significant growth and change throughout the decades. Back in the day, the store only sold items pertaining to recreational sports, such as basketballs and soccer cleats. However, the Federicos eventually decided to broaden their horizons and sell everything from archery supplies to yoga mats. This amplification has even resulted in the company becomming the second largest retailer of UNH Wildcats merchandise, just behind the UNH Bookstore. Today, with an expanded 4,000 square foot facility, a total of over 40 part-time and full-time employees are proud to work in such a beloved environment and be a part of our team. After 30 years of running Victory Sports Emporium, Johnny and Richie believed it was the right time to move on and enjoy retirement. They handed down their successful business to a close relative, Amanda Federico, who has been the CEO for the past 15 years.
