If your not a boxing fan you probably know Micky Ward better as the guy from Mark Wahlbergs The Fighter. Micky Ward has been one of my favorite boxers for a while although he is currently retired. I watched a lot of his older fights out of my own interest and am impressed by his dedication and style as a true 'Irish' brawler. Micky was born on October 4, 1965 and grew up in Lowell, Massachusets. He fought as a light welterweight for many years battling in 51 fights during his entire career as a professional boxer most of while being trained by his brother Dicky Eklund. His last fight was in 2003 against Arturo Gatti, the rival Micky is most well known for fighting.
