Introduction
My penname is Jenni Allens, and my goal is to display art on this page, gain feedback, and possiby
eventually sell some of my art, doing requests for those interested. Abbreviations and acronyms, each with an appropriate title attribute.
I am earning my B.A. and hopefully my M.S. from
UNH in Psychology. I am also minoring in Studio Art at
the university because I find drawing especially to be one of my favorite hobbies. I also have been told that I have a good
talent for it, and should consider doing art for others as a paid side job or something. My specialty is in drawing animals
and humans with pencils or charcoal, especially when I have a reference to study while I draw for several hours or days to work on the piece.
Here is a link
to the homepage of the course I am taking in order to make this page eventually full of beautiful art,
silly commentary, and re-postings of my favorite comics I find on deviantart or elsewhere (which will always have
a link to see the artist who originally created it). There may be a couple of aliens that will show up in my art on here, because my favorite videogame is Mass Effect and the third
game of the trilogy is coming up soon! Also, one of my favortie comic series is a Mass Effect parody series by a user named Epantiras.
You can find her account on deviantart here.

More About The Art Styles Here
Pencil Drawings/Sketches
- My favorite style is drawing in a form that is anatomically correct, but has an "anime" style face, where the eyes are depicted larger, and not necessarily a lot of detail on the nose.
- Chibis are adorable mini-characters - the head is much larger than proportionally correct, and all of the body and facial features are simplified. The eyes are very large and expressive.
These are the best to draw when you have small scrap paper to work with and not much time.
- I also like to draw as realistically as possible, as much as is possible within my ability to get to
photograph level with just pencils. I am
by far not the best, but have been told I am really good, and should consider selling art in the future. These pictures tend to take about 20+ hours to make a masterpiece , especially if on a large paper in charcoal.
- I would eventually like to get photoshop and explore that, I would love making some of the beautiful images I have seen others do in that program!
(Sadly my Linux computer can't use it.)
My Art Experience
- Started off in 3rd grade being in love with the Pokemon game, and soon was using a how-to draw Pokemon book to start my
drawing journey.Pokemon fan art led to Digimon, and then to humans when I became a Harry Potter fan, and began recording doodles profusely in a diary along with
fanfiction ideas for my take on the 6th Harry Potter book when I was in 9th grade.
- Always having been a huge geek, my friends over the years connected me to various animes, art/fanfiction sites, and Dungeons
and Dragons/White Wolf campaign role play games, further enhancing my creative silliness. Throughout my life, I have faced alot of depression and
traumatic experiences, so enhancing my creative skills has been a peaceful, stress-reducing activity throughout my life.
- I took up a Studio Art minor originally mostly to have an excuse to take art courses at the University, but may end up
utilizing it for either selling art as a pasttime or even as Art Therapy when I get my degree in Clinical Social Work.
- Courses I have taken so far or are signed up to take in the fall/spring include: Intro to Drawing, Intermediate Drawing,
Advanced Drawing, Sculpture, and Ceramics.
<Background on Mass Effect>(Subject of Much of My Current Art)
My favorite videogame is Mass Effect, the basis for a good chunk of my fanart right now.
In this futuristic sci-fi, action-packed game, everyone ends up with a slightly different story, because there
are a multitude of decisions your character can make, resulting in opening up different romance options with crewmates
and sometimes saving or destroying entire races. Commander Shepard of the ship the Normandy has to recruit as many reliable
battle companions and tech experts of various alien races in order to defeat a mysterious, almost unknown alien race
called the Reapers. You learn more about the Reapers and a shady pro-human organization with some criminal background
called Cerberus as the game continues on through the sequels. You can design the first name, gender, hair color, race,
background, and upload your own Commander Shepard from the first Mass Effect game into the second and
then third. Also, you control the behavior of your character - there is always a reel of dialogue options, some neutral,
and others where you either take the pissed off bad ass route Renegade, orthe honorable hero route,
the Paragon option. There is a good combination of both dialogue and first person based shooter in the
Mass Effect 2, and The third and final game of the Mass Effect Series is coming out in January 2012...and I am super excited!
Mass Effect is an action role-playing game developed by BioWare for the Xbox 360...The game takes place in
the year 2183, with the player, assuming the role of an elite human soldier named Commander Shepard, setting out to
explore the Galaxy on a starship, the Normandy. The titular
mass effect is a form of inertia-suppressing technology, allowing faster-than-light travel.
A sequel, Mass Effect 2...directly uses players' completed save data from
the first game to influence events and storylines within the second game, basing certain events and narrative
threads on decisions and actions that the player made in the first game. Cited from Wikipedia's Mass Effect Page
