The Boy Scouts of AmericaThe Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with over 4.5 million youth members. It was founded in 1910 as part of the International Scout Movement, more than 110 million Americans have been members of the BSA. The BSA was brought over by Sir Robert Baden Powell with the help of William D. Boyce. When Boyce was in London he got stuck and lost in the London fog. He was helped out of the fog by this mysterious young boy dressed in a uniform. When Boyce offered him money for his help the boy simple said that he could not take the money for he is a scout. Boyce loved that answer and when he turned to thank the scout again he has already vanished in the fog. Boyce then went to Sir Robert Baden Powell and asked for help to bring Scouting to America. Thus the BSA was born, and the BSA has been around to help boys become men and help out in communities. "The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young men to make moral and ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the scout oath and scout law."
