Ahmad Etebari, Ph.D.

Ahmad Etebari joined the Whittemore School faculty in 1980, and has been chair of the School’s Accounting and Finance Department since January 1994. He has held visiting positions at Bond University in Australia, University of Waikato and University of Otago in New Zealand, University of Tehran in Iran, and University of Massachusetts Lowell. Ahmad’s teaching and research interests are in corporate finance and investments. He is the 1992 recipient of the Whittemore School’s Teaching Excellence Award and has published in national and international professional journals. He is Past President of the Northeast Business & Economics Association and serves on editorial boards of the Journal of Northeast Business & Economic Studies and Petroleum Accounting and Financial Management Journal, as well as ad-hoc reviewer for several finance journals. Ahmad is a member of the Whittemore School's Executive Committee and is involved in the School’s Executive, Day and Part-Time MBA Programs. Ahmad lives in Durham with his wife Mahnaz. Ali,
the older son, is at Virginia Tech pusuing a Ph.D in biomechanics and Mehrun
is a junior at Brandeis. Outside work, Ahmad enjoys sports, mostly
soccer.
