My Web presentation project will be about a Non-Profit Teen Center that is close to my home. Over the summers I volunteer as a peer advisor there to kids who need a safe place to hang out or a place that welcomes them. It will be a business page about the Teen Center, which is called The Junction.
The site will differ from other business sites because the site isn't trying to sell a product. The goal of the website is to highlight a great organization that does a lot of good things for its community. I plan to use a lot of existing pictures from the center, as well as using programs like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to give my website a good design. I would like the make the site easy to use, but professional looking. I will try to incorporate drop down menus, and possibly a slideshow of pictures to make the website stand out.
The goal of this website is to provide information about a teen center which gives back to the community that is it in. Highighting what the organization does is very important to me because I devote a lot of my free time to the organization.
The audience I am shooting for with this website are teens (13-20) who are looking for a positive place to hang out around Lebanon NH. I plan to have the site finished by the end of the semester. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, along with existing pictures of the teen center will be used as the main graphics of the site. I intend to fufill the requirement of at least 2,500 words on the website about the org. I expect the website to be regularly maintained because the orginzation has ongoing projects weekly. Since the org. is non-profit, all money is made by donations. The teen center is umbrellaed by a larger non-profit that funds it through their donations.
The objective of the site is to help get this organization spread to people who need it. I have done a lot of research in being actively involved with the trips they organize and the service they do for their community.
I will most likely use a exploratory theme that's similar to the class website. It is appropriate for my site, because there will be a lot of information and pages on what the teen center does, and who does what. I also would like to dedicate some pages to links or testimonials, so having an exploratory theme would be beneficial.
